Minneapolis, MN, November 28, 2001 -- Captovation, which develops production-level and Internet-based document capture software for the Enterprise, announced the appointment of John Smetana as Director of Channel Sales. Mr. Smetana’s background consists of working in channel sales for various high-tech companies and also includes handling consultative sales for the following services: integration, outsourcing and software engineering. Mr. Smetana is also a CDIA (Certified Document Imaging Architect), which helps to ensure his understanding of the imaging industry. “John
brings a multitude of sales experience working with a variety of companies in
the high-tech industry, including companies that offer enabling technologies
such as ours,” said Ken Peterka, President and CEO of Captovation.
“John’s efforts will be crucial in expanding our reseller channel and
enhancing our overall presence in the marketplace.” As
Director of Channel Sales, John Smetana will be responsible for strengthening
Captovation’s existing relationships with their Value-Added Resellers (VARs),
and adding VARs in new geographical areas.
Additionally, John will work to establish strategic alliances with
companies in the Electronic Document Management System and Records Management
industries. He reports directly to
Ken Peterka. Prior to joining
Captovation, Mr. Smetana was the Director of Business Development for Impetus
Computing Systems, a company that sells outsourced computer software
applications. Mr. Smetana has over
ten years of computer industry experience and has represented some of largest
high-tech companies including Microsoft, Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, 3Com and Cisco
Systems.
