Captovation Recognition Server will help you and your organization automate the most expensive and time consuming step in the document management process -- Document Indexing.

To facilitate automated document indexing, the bar codes on your documents can be automatically recognized and applied to associated index fields in 3 easy steps:

1. Captovation Recognition Server processes scanned batches and reads the bar codes.

2. The bar code data is populated into appropriate index fields.

3. Captovation Recognition Server archives the images and corresponding data directly into your electronic document management system (EDMS).

Bar Code Recognition

Captovation Recognition Server supports 2D bar codes and many popular 1D bar codes.  2D bar codes can provide better recognition in environments where document quality may be degraded.  In addition, 2D bar codes can support more characters in comparison with the size of 1D bar codes.  As a result, a 2D bar code can easily contain all the index data necessary for a document.  

Bar codes can be read in any orientation.  The bar code data can still be extracted even if the document was skewed or scanned upside down.

Database Driven Indexing

Captovation Recognition Server offers the ability to search corporate databases.  Bar codes containing a unique value; such as a voucher number, transaction number, or policy number, can be used to retrieve corresponding index data such as a vendor or customer name.  Populating document index data from a database ensures data integrity and eliminates manual data entry.

Central Administration

Captovation Recognition Server runs as a dedicated server application.  Batch jobs are defined by the types of documents processed.  Each batch job can then be independently scheduled using the built-in scheduler.  Once batch jobs are scheduled, the Captovation Recognition Server will continuously process them.  If problems are encountered while processing a batch, an administrator will be notified via email and the error will be logged in a daily file.
