Captovation
Announces Latest Support for Legato’s ApplicationXtender™ Minneapolis,
MN, March 1, 2004 -- Captovation, which develops production-level and
Internet-based document and check capture solutions for electronic
document/content management systems, announced today new, direct integration
support between their eCapture product and Legato’s ApplicationXtender (AX).
The integration is facilitated by an eCapture Data Provider (EDP), and
supports AX version 4.0 or later including the new AX 5.0 release.
Captovation’s eCapture provides Legato ApplicationXtender customers with
production-level document scanning and indexing components, distributed web
capture capabilities, automated bar code recognition, as well as a check imaging
system. The
new integration support includes an eCapture/AX template manager.
The template manager allows an administrator to create templates that map
data elements between eCapture and AX. The
new user-interface for the template manager greatly simplifies the integration
implementation between eCapture and AX. The
eCapture/AX EDP also now includes support for multiple ApplicationXtender data
stores. This allows eCapture to
commit (archive) document images to numerous AX databases that have been
configured within a customer’s environment.
Furthermore, the administrator can configure the template to archive
images to Legato’s DiskXtender via RPC (remote procedure call).
Captovation’s
integration support for AX includes support for AX key reference fields as well.
These fields allow other data values to be imported into AX based upon
corresponding data within a corporate database.
For example, if a social security number is defined as a key reference
field, any other data relative to that SSN, such as first and last name, will
automatically be populated within AX. This
helps to reduce data entry since only the SSN would have to be entered while
indexing in eCapture. Additionally, the eCapture/AX
EDP also includes the ability to create multiple document records per physical
document. This feature is useful because it allows multiple documents to be
created within AX that all point to the
same image(s); thereby reducing storage requirements.
Lastly, the new EDP allows backup images of committed documents to be
created within the user’s eCapture commit folder. Captovation
provides the eCapture/AX EDP free to all eCapture customers that are current
with software maintenance. The EDP utilizes the AX SDK to seamlessly archive the
documents. During the batch commit
process, the EDP macro moves the document images and associated index
information from eCapture and into AX. During
this process, the EDP will verify that a corresponding ApplicationXtender
application exists and that the fields are compatible. Captovation,
