Captovation
Announces Integration Between eCapture and TRIM Context Minneapolis,
MN, January 9, 2003 – Captovation, a developer of production-level and
Internet-based document capture software, announced today direct integration
supp eCapture
provides TRIM Context users with a production-level interface to scan and index
business documents. TRIM customers
will be able to leverage the many features offered by the eCapture suite of
document capture components. For
example, the eCapture component ecNet facilitates distributed document capture
via the Internet. TRIM customers
now have the ability to scan and index documents anywhere in the world, and then
send those images and index data over the Internet to a centralized TRIM Context
database repository. In
addition, TRIM users will benefit from eCapture’s automated indexing
capabilities using optical character and bar code recognition technologies, as
well as eCapture’s production-level check scanning interface. “TOWER
Software is extremely pleased to add Captovation to our list of technology
partners” said Cliff Sink, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for TOWER
Software. “The eCapture product
is a good fit for TRIM customers who are capturing images.”
The
integration between eCapture and TRIM Context is represented as an eCapture Data
Provider (EDP), which is available from Captovation at no additional charge.
When eCapture commits document images, the EDP automatically archives them into
a designated TRIM Context database. Since
the TRIM Context integration is developed as an eCapture Data Provider, it
automatically supports the entire suite of eCapture components. An
administrator uses a template manager program to map index fields from eCapture
to user-defined fields within TRIM Context.
In addition, document images can also be stored within a TRIM Context
container (i.e., sub folder). For
example, a container may represent a customer’s documents.
Documents can be placed into a pre-designated container or they can be
dynamically created during the commit process by using the associated document
index values. During the commit
process, all document images are formatted to a multiple page, Group IV TIFF
(tagged image file format). “eCapture
provides TRIM Context with a robust, batch oriented document capture solution
that allows customers to efficiently capture their mission-critical business
documents,” said Ken Peterka, President and CEO of Captovation, Inc.
“The two systems complement each other very nicely and work well
together.” About Captovation Captovation,
