Captovation Announces the Release of Captovation^® Capture Version 5.2
Release strengthens Captovation Web Capture’s enterprise-level,
distributed document capture capabilities

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, November 30, 2007—Captovation, a developer of document capture software, is proud to announce the release of CaptovationCapture 5.2. This version includes new features and functionality added to multiple Captovation Capture modules. Highlighting the release are significant product enhancements developed for Captovation’s award-winning, browser-based capture software, Captovation Web Capture.

Captovation Web Capture consists of a server and a client that runs within a web browser. Remote users connect to the Web Capture server using a browser, which initiates the Web Capture client (initially downloaded as an ActiveX component). After login, the Web Capture client is used to scan and index documents using either TWAIN-compliant desktop scanners or multifunction devices (MFDs). When document capture is completed, remote users send the document images and associated metadata over the Internet to the Web Capture server, which typically archives the images and data into an electronic document management system.

Over the last few years, more and more organizations have adopted a distributed document capture system. The increased adoption rate has been sparked by the availability of low-cost desktop scanners, high-speed internet connectivity, as well as regulatory changes and compliance initiatives, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Organizations have turned to distributed document capture systems as a means to capture their documents at the earliest point where paper enters the workplace. Doing so provides the benefits of reduced cycle-times, improved customer service, centralized control and management of all paper assets, increased document information sharing and collaboration, and the elimination of document shipping costs.

Web Capture is being used by both small and large organizations representing the majority of the vertical markets. More recently, Web Capture has been deployed on a much larger scale with installations exceeding one hundred users and capture points spanning several continents.

The following is an overview of the new features added to Captovation Web Capture:

· Web Capture Auto Logout
Captovation Web Capture can be configured to automatically logout a user after a certain period of inactivity. This feature helps to ensure security and maximizes concurrent license usage.

· Web Capture Auto Authentication
This feature allows the web server to authenticate users and bypass the Web Capture login interface. As a result, organizations have greater flexibility in how to authenticate Web Capture users.

· Improved Web Capture File Transmission
Web Capture now incorporates greater data compression to improve transmission performance. In addition, the document and metadata transmission process includes a checksum algorithm to verify batch integrity.

Other notable features in Captovation Capture 5.2 include:

· Captovation Servers can be Run as a Windows Service
Captovation Commit Server, Recognition Server and Import Server can all be run as a Windows Service. This improves security as administrators no longer have to log in to each server to start individual programs.

· Store Documents by Index Values
When storing documents to a network folder, Capture 5.2 now has the ability to store documents into subfolders by index values in addition to date. For example, users could store their documents in a “Customers” folder with the subfolders named for the various customers. Additionally, the type of document (legal, accounting, etc.) can be stored in another subfolder under the customer name.

· Client/Server Verification for X9.37 Files
Captovation Check Capture features the ability to create X9.37 files, which are also known as image cash letters (ICLs). This file format is the industry standard for electronic check image exchange. When administrators configure Check Capture to transmit X9.37 files via secure file transfer protocol (FTPS), they can now include client and/or server certificate files to facilitate multi-faceted authentication.

· FTP Import Provider
Captovation Import Server provides a method to import images and electronic documents (Word, Excel, etc.) into Captovation Capture where they are converted to standard image format. In Capture 5.2, Import Server can now be configured to import documents via File Transfer Protocol (FTP). Import Server simply connects to a specified FTP Server and imports files from a specified import folder.
