CyLex^sm and Captovation Team Up to Provide Unique ASP Offering
Partnership results in affordable document management solution

Minneapolis, MN, March 21, 2001 -- CyLex^sm, an industry leading Application Service Provider (ASP) of document/content management solutions and Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Captovation, a developer of high-quality document and data capture solutions for document management systems, announced today the completion of a strategic partnership. CyLex and Captovation have worked together to create an Internet-enabled service offering that integrates CyLex’s i-DOX content management service with Captovation’s eCapture 4, a suite of production-level and distributed Internet document capture tools for the Enterprise. The combined software solutions of the two companies offer customers a complete and affordable ASP solution for the capture, storage and management of vital information.

Captovation’s offering is its true, distributed Internet-based capture solution called ecNet, which CyLlex hosts in-house. Using the CyLex XML format, Captovation created a release script that enables images scanned and indexed by ecNet to integrate with the i-DOX upload agent for automatic import to the i-DOX Service. "This is an important strategic relationship for us and it reflects our strategy of working with best-of-breed partners," said Zee Aganovic, President and CEO of CyLex. “Captovation’s experience in the document imaging industry coupled with their approach in developing a distributed capture solution will help ensure a mutually beneficial relationship.”

The strategic partner agreement will give both companies the opportunity to leverage their existing technologies with the goal of expanding their current customer base. Captovation’s software is sold through value added resellers (VAR). This strategic relationship will allow those VARs to offer their customers a total document management solution at a lower cost than traditional, production-level document management solutions. As an ASP, CyLex can offer individuals or enterprises access over the Internet to application programs and related services that would otherwise have to be purchased, installed and supported in-house. Now organizations of all sizes can effectively “rent” the latest document management technology that requires very minimal support.
